Introduction:

The Web 2.0 tool I chose was Tagxedo ! I love this tool it allows for a lot of creativity. You can use this tool for all sorts of projects in your classroom. I attached two different projects I did. One was research on Abraham Lincoln and the other and introduction to myself. Which I could have downloaded a picture of myself for the shape of my Tagexdo, but I chose the Cardinal Bird because I love the Cards! Click on the above links to see how neat they really look. You can use this tool for an alternate to a research paper, paragraph, introduction, or anything that uses words to describe something. It could also be a cover page of a research paper or just a piece of art. You can use it for an introduction to synonms and/or spelling words. I think it would be neat to make a Solar System out of Tagexbo. You can download pictures of the planets, assign a planet to a group, and they can add describing words for their planet. It would be a great bulletin board. The possibilities are endless if you or the students use their creativity. I have used this before, but was always sad there wasn't many options of pictures to use. Well after exploring it more I realized you can in fact download your own picture!! I was very excited about this! Another really cool feature is you can make a Tagxedo out of blogs, tweets, tags, etc. Instead of hitting the create button you will add your URL, Twitter ID, etc. This option is on the home page of Tagxedo and the video below will go more in detail with it. Have Fun!

Directions:

  2. Click on the link above (Amy Rainwater-Tagexdo or just Tagexdo) or go to www.tagxedo.com to begin.

  6. If you choose to upload a picture (first save the picture on your computer-I save images from Google usually) then hit add image.
  7. It will ask you where you saved the picture pick the correct option and hit open. Your picture will appear.
  8. You can then add the words you want by clicking load or change the color, theme, or layout.
  9. I usually add my words then begin changing the look and feel of the picture. That part is all up to you!!
  10. When you go to load your words hit load, then the text box, add words, and hit submit. The words will appear in your picture.
  11. Now it's your job to explore all the options to make your picture look like you want it to.
  12. When you complete your project click on the save/share/print options to save, share, and/or print your picture.
  13. Have fun...I know I do everytime I use it. I have also made presents using this tool people love them!
